Abstract

This review paper examines existing IT-enabled governance systems and administrative systems which higher education institutions use to deliver their educational services in Indian institutions. The rapid advancement of information technology provides educational institutions with multiple opportunities to improve their operational processes and administrative functions. The paper combines existing research studies to examine how Indian higher education institutions currently operate their IT-based systems and which challenges they face and which benefits they obtain and which future developments they can expect. The findings will deliver a complete overview which will support the research process and system design work and the implementation process for IT-based governance systems which Indian higher education institutions use.
